The Bangladesh Young Column Writers Forum (BYCWF) has officially announced the new committee for its National University branch for the upcoming 2026–27 session.
Tanjin Choity, a postgraduate student in the Department of Sociology at Chittagong College, has been appointed as President. Joining her at the helm is S M Raihan Uddin, a student in the Department of Islamic History and Culture at Tongi Government College, who has been selected as General Secretary.
The announcement was formalized in a press release issued on Monday, August 17, co-signed by BYCWF Central President Ruhul Amin and General Secretary Saisha Sultana Sadia. Following the announcement, the central office issued a directive requiring the newly appointed leaders to form a full branch committee and submit it for approval within the next seven working days.
Both newly appointed leaders bring a strong track record of dedication to the organization, having jointly been recognized as the “Best Organizers of the Year” during the 2025–2026 session.
Choity, who previously served as the branch’s Publicity Secretary, expressed her gratitude and vision for the upcoming term. “Through everyone’s united efforts, I will do my utmost to take the practice of writing even further in the coming days by utilizing the intellect, mindset, and energy of the youth,” Choity stated.
Raihan Uddin, transitioning from his previous role as a member of the editorial board, emphasized the importance of teamwork in expanding the organization’s regional footprint. “Under the leadership of the newly elected President and with the sincere cooperation and united efforts of all dedicated members, we want to further accelerate the activities of the National University branch,” he said.
The outgoing President, General Secretary, and fellow branch members formally welcomed the incoming leadership team, extending their best wishes for a successful tenure aimed at fostering the next generation of writers and columnists.
